【摘要】:Thisfire-test-responsestandardisdesignedtoprovideabasisforestimatingoneaspectofthefireexposurebehaviortoexposedinsulationinstalledonthefloorsofbuildingattics.Thetestenvironmentisintendedtosimulateconditionsthathavebeenobservedanddefinedinfull-scaleatticexperiments.Thetestisintendedtobesuitableforregulatorystatutes,specificationacceptance,designpurposes,ordevelopmentandresearch.Thefundamentalassumptioninherentinthetestisthatcriticalradiantfluxisonemeasureofthesurfaceburningcharacteristicsofexposedinsulationonfloorsorbetweenjoistsofattics.Thetestisapplicabletoatticfloorinsulationspecimensthatfolloworsimulateacceptedinstallationpractice.Inthisprocedure,thespecimensaresubjectedtooneormorespecificsetsoflaboratoryfiretestexposureconditions.Ifdifferenttestconditionsaresubstitutedortheanticipatedend-useconditionsarechanged,cautionshouldbeusedtopredictchangesintheperformancecharacteristicsmeasuredbyorfromthistest.Therefore,theresultsarestrictlyvalidonlyforthefiretestexposureconditionsdescribedinthisprocedure.5.5.1Ifthetestresultsobtainedbythistestmethodaretobeconsideredinthetotalassessmentoffirehazardinabuildingstructure,thenallpertinentestablishedcriteriaforfirehazardassessmentdevelopedbyCommitteeE-5mustbeincludedintheconsideration.1.1Thisfire-test-responsestandarddescribesaprocedureformeasuringthecriticalradiantfluxofexposedatticfloorinsulationsubjectedtoaflamingignitionsourceinagradedradiantheatenergyenvironmentinatestchamber.Thespecimenisanyatticfloorinsulation.Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletothoseinsulationsthatmeltorshrinkawaywhenexposedtotheradiantheatenergyenvironmentorthepilotburner.1.2Thisfire-test-responsestandardmeasuresthecriticalradiantfluxatthepointatwhichtheflameadvancesthefarthest.Itprovidesabasisforestimatingoneaspectoffireexposurebehaviorforexposedatticfloorinsulation.Theimposedradiantfluxsimulatesthethermalradiationlevelslikelytoimpingeonthefloorsofatticswhoseuppersurfacesareheatedbythesunthroughtherooforbyflamesfromanincidentalfireintheattic.Thisfire-test-responsestandardwasdevelopedtosimulateanimportantfireexposurecomponentoffiresthatdevelopinattics,butisnotintendedforuseinestimatingflamespreadbehaviorofinsulationinstalledotherthanontheatticfloor.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnotesandfootnotesthatprovideexplanatoryinformation.Thesenotesandfootnotes,excludingthoseintablesandfigures,shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthisstandard.1.5Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.6Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthestandard.
