【摘要】:Sealsaremanufacturedinflatextrudedshapesandareprimarilyusedtospanjointopenings.Thesealisadheredtoconstructionsubstratesutilizingaliquidappliedadhesive,tosealbuildingopeningssuchaspaneljoints,metalflashingjointsorotherjointsinplaceofconventionalliquidappliedsealants.Inactualuse,failureofanappliedsealinanactivejointisusuallymanifestedbycohesivefailureoftheseal;adhesivefailurebetweentheadhesiveandthesubstrate;adhesivefailurebetweentheadhesiveandtheseal;cohesivefailureofthesubstrateortearpropagationparalleltothejointlength.Thistestmethodcanbeusedfortestingtheadhesionoftheadhesivetothesubstrateandtotheseal,tensileloadatvariousstrainsandtearresistanceatvariousstrainsafterthespecimensareexposedtowet,cold,hotandartificialweatheringconditionings.Allorsomeofthesepropertiesareexperiencedonactualjobsites.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesalaboratoryprocedureformeasuringmodulus,tear,jointmovementabilityandadhesionpropertiesofapplied,PrecuredElastomericJointSealants,hereinafterreferredtoasx201C;appliedsealx201D;andifnotapplied,hereinafterreferredtoasx201C;seal,x201D;onportlandcementmortarasastandardsubstrateandorothersubstrates.Itteststhesepropertiesafterdry,wet,frozen,heatagedorartificiallyweather-agedconditionings,orboth.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.4Thecommitteewithjurisdictionoverthisstandardisnotawareofanysimilarstandardpublishedbyanothercommitteeororganization.
